- Claude Puel confirms Pascal Plancque as Assistant Manager alongside Michael Appleton at Leicester City
- Plancque has previously worked with Puel at Southampton
- The 54-year-old enjoyed a lengthy playing career in France
Following a 15-year playing career as a midfielder for French outfits Lille, Auxerre, Laval and Pau, Plancque took on his first coaching role in 1995 and has since gone on to manage at four teams – Arin Luzien, Pau, Lille B and Boulogne.
The 54-year-old Frenchman was also part of Puel’s coaching staff at Southampton during the 2016/17 season.
Puel told the media on Friday: “It is important to have a trainer (Michael Appleton) with the players who can help me have a relationship with the players.
"It is very, very important to prepare and make decisions. I speak about Appleton and Pascal will come in as assistant manager. He brings the same things as Michael.
"He is a good person, like Michael, and a good trainer also.”
