The Foxes, now unbeaten in six, twice took the lead at bet365 Stadium through Vicente Iborra and Riyad Mahrez but strikes from Xherdan Shaqiri and Peter Crough twice curtailed Claude Puel’s men.

While the visitors would ultimately have been disappointed not to emerge from the Potteries with all three points, Taggart was nonetheless enthused by their performance levels.

“I really enjoyed this game,” he said at full-time on Matchday Live. “The icing on the cake is that the day is not over yet! This 12:30pm kick-off has been really good for us.

“It was a fantastic game of football, both teams were going after the win. There were some really good attacking performances and some poor defending.”

It’s been an entertaining game and it’s a decent point for City going into the international break.

City have now drawn 2-2 at Stoke in their previous three visits and Taggart says both sides can reflect on the encounter with positives to take away.

“Should we have really doubted it would end 2-2? It’s ended that score the last few times,” he added. “It’s been an entertaining game and it’s a decent point for City going into the international break.”
