Riyad Mahrez, Shinji Okazaki (2) and Andy King struck for City to seal a fourth consecutive Premier League victory, propelling Claude Puel’s men to within five points of the top four.

After a 3-2 triumph at Newcastle United on Saturday evening, the Foxes have taken a maximum six points from their travels, something Taggart says they can take great pride in.

“It’s a fantastic away result for Leicester City tonight,” he told LCFC Radio. “From start to finish, they were the best team on the pitch, Southampton had no answer to them.

“The front four absolutely blew them away. It was that man again, the magician Mahrez; he started the scoring off and, in the end, it was him who started the move for the fourth goal as well.

“Okazaki came back into the starting line-up, grabbing two goals and the vital fourth to kill the game off so it’s an unbelievably fantastic away performance from Leicester City.”
