City head to Manchester to face the Premier League leaders in the hope of returning to winning ways following last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Swansea City.

Schmeichel believes the Foxes’ strengths will lie in their rapid counter attacks and, with a productive week of training behind them, the Denmark international has good reason to be positive.

“We’re working hard this week,” Schmeichel told LCFC TV prior to the game. “For us, I think Manchester City away is a tough game. It is for anyone, actually.

“I think it’s going to be difficult but we’ve had success at the Etihad before so at the end of the day, 11 men versus 11 men, you’re going to have to work harder and try and do something.

“Well I think we’ve always got the threat on the counter and when we’re up against sides who have more possession than us, when we do win the ball back we’ve got a really good threat when we break.

“It’s going to be a tough ask, there’s no question about that, but we do seem to like these occasions.”

With the quality they have if you start anticipating what they might do, they’ve got enough quality to change their mind at the last second and do the opposite.

While Schmeichel will come up against a wealth of talent on Saturday, the stopper will concentrate only on his side’s actions at Etihad Stadium.

He added: “I think you know most of the players there and I think it’s a dangerous kind of thing for a 'keeper to start studying too much the strikers.
