Leicester City’s Academy squad had to settle for a 0-0 draw with Swansea City in Landore on Saturday afternoon.

Trevor Peake’s young Foxes could have been ahead inside 10 minutes, but forward Terelll Pennant’s close-range attempt was blazed over the bar.

For the Swans, Oliver Cooper was unlucky not to break the deadlock soon after while Shaquille Wytner-Coles was also denied by in-form City stopper Rhys Davies.

Connor Tee, meanwhile, narrowly missed the target from a free-kick, just outside the area, but Leicester were unable to secure a victory which would have seen them leapfrog Swansea.

As a result, Peake’s side remain fifth in the U18 Premier League South standings, one point behind the south Wales outfit and six adrift of third-place Southampton.

This weekend will pay witness to City’s final league fixture of the 2017/18 campaign when they host Norwich City at Belvoir Drive on Saturday (12pm kick-off).
