What are the objectives of the club?

We are here to develop elite players working towards national squad selection.  Our emphasis is on individual and team development and wider football education. Individual match results are not our prime focus

This will vary between clubs. 

What Qualifications do staff have to have?

All staff must be FA Level 2 and above but most of our coaching staff are FA/UEFA Level 3

Most coaches are likely to be FA Level 1 or Level 2

Do you have a  Goalkeeping Coach?

Yes, a GK coach is at every training session for all age groups and on match days for the U14 & U16 squads

This will vary between clubs

How often do you train?

As part of the FA LTPD programme the U10 & U12 train twice a week, with the U14 & U16 training three times per week, 2 hours per session

Varies.  Most train once a week for about one hour

What physical support do players receive?

All players receive Strength & Conditioning coaching from Specialist S&C coaching staff

What medical support do players receive? All players are supported by our fully qualified Physiotherapists and Sport Therapists at every training session and match day for the U14 & U16 squads. Unusual for grass roots clubs
How do you get players into the FA Youth International Pathway? The FA Talent Identification Scouts, The FA Regional Coaching Staff and the FA Youth International Coaches attend games throughout the season to identify, develop and support players attending Regional, National & International Camps.  We nominate players throughout the season. Players may be scouted or invited to attend FA training camps.  Clubs may nominate players for designated camps.
Which teams do you play against? As part of the FA LTPD programme the U10 & U12 play in a Charter Standard League fixture programme against boys' teams. This helps with their Technical, Physical and Psychological development. The U14 & U16 play against other RTCs eg Arsenal, Manchester City, Bristol, Sheffield, Southampton Grassroots girls' league
Do the players have fun? Absolutely! All good RTC and grassroots clubs will ensure that players develop within a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
What success can be seen with players going into International Youth Squads? During the 2017/18 season we have had 3 of our U16 players in England Youth Squads, 1 player attending National Performance Camp (NPC) and 10 that are regular attendees at Regional Performance Camps No details available
What is expected of players and parents? We want players and parents to recognise the investment and opportunity provided by the FA and RTC. This needs to be reflected in focus, attendance, and a positive attitude to learn as an individual and as part of a team Varies by Club
