Over the past few years, Robert Huth’s incredible level of professionalism has been matched by his sheer brilliance on social media.

From hilarious exchanges with former Stoke City team-mate Jonathan Walters to announcing his move to Leicester City in style, the German has become a must-follow for football fans on Twitter.

Upon announcing he will call time on his playing career with the Foxes, we picked out six of his best tweets… Enjoy!

‘The sexy football show’

In June 2015, following a successful loan spell with City, the 34-year-old confirmed his permanent switch to the Club in the most Robert Huth way possible. Already a popular member of the squad given his heroic performances helped the Foxes retain their Premier League status in 2014/15, the self-branded ‘sexy football show’ further endeared himself to the Blue Army for his dry sense of humour.

Huth finds Walters...

Huth and Walters combined on many occasions while at Stoke City and even when the former had left the Potters, they continued to do so – over on Twitter, of course. One of their most popular exchanges was one detailing the link-up play between the two. It’s fair to say they thought highly of each other’s abilities.

‘A square-shaped head’

Huth scored some huge goals for Leicester City, including a late winner at White Hart Lane during the 2015/16 campaign. For much of the season, Tottenham Hotspur were Leicester’s main title rivals so when he headed home against the London outfit in January 2016, there was cause for a celebratory tweet – and rightly so.

That free kick

If Huth gets himself on the scoresheet, the chances are it’ll be via a header. So, when he stepped up to take a free kick against former side Stoke City in January 2016, the odds were stacked against him. Nevertheless, Huth backed himself… as did Danny Drinkwater. Both attempted to take the free kick, with the German defender sending the ball into the stands after getting the final connection. With the Foxes already 2-0 up, there was no harm done.

Champions League guaranteed!

When Leicester City confirmed they will be playing in the UEFA Champions League for the first time, Huth was already looking forward to the prospect of playing in Europe’s elite club competition. We didn’t quite get to see him perform a rabona, but he did put in some excellent displays for the Foxes during their maiden campaign in the Champions League.

It’s fair to say that Robert has enjoyed a defensive battle or two over the years. When City faced 2015/16 runners-up Arsenal in April 2017, it proved to be a feisty encounter. The Gunners scraped a 1-0 win late on after the ball found the back of the net via a deflection off Huth, who, after the game shared a photo of a battle wound sustained during the clash.
