- Leicester City's Marc Albrighton expresses his excitement for the 2018/19 Premier League season
- The Foxes will open against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday 11 August (3pm kick-off)
- Albrighton, 28, is approaching his fifth top flight season at the Football Club
- Claude Puel's squad will return for pre-season training at Belvoir Drive later this summer
The 28-year-old midfielder, a scorer of some of the most iconic goals in the Club's history, spoke after confirmation that City will tackle Manchester United at Old Trafford on the opening day.
After that clash with the 20-time champions, on Saturday 11 August, the Foxes welcome newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers to King Power Stadium on Saturday 18 August (both 3pm kick-offs).
Albrighton has been with the Club during a transformational period which has seen them cement their status in the top flight, including the stunning league title success of 2016.
While the former Aston Villa man acknowledges that a trip to Manchester on the opening day presents a tough challenge, he insists that it is one which excites the City squad enormously.
"The day that the fixtures are released is always a big one and it really ramps up the excitement for the new season," Albrighton said this week.
"I am already looking forward to it and pulling on a Leicester City shirt in what will be my fifth season at the Club.
"Of course, it will be a tough one fixture away to Manchester United, but knowing the team we have here, they’ll be looking at it as a tough one for them too.
"They are obviously a strong team so we will need the support of our travelling fans at Old Trafford.
"With them behind us, I am confident that we can go there and get a positive result."
Albrighton also looked ahead to the festive period, a passage of time that will see the Foxes contest seven Premier League fixtures in December.
He added: "Looking at the rest of the games, it’s great to see that we’ve a home game on Boxing Day, which I know is always a nice one for fans and their families to come along to during the festive period.
"Again it’s good to finish our season with a home game too. We’re due back in very soon.
"It’ll be good to see the rest of the lads again and get stuck in to pre-season to make sure we’re 100 per cent ready for whatever Manchester United can throw at us on the opening day."
