The Spanish outfit will be City’s opposition on Filbert Way on Wednesday evening (7:45pm BST kick-off), a clash which will be the Blue Army’s only chance to see Claude Puel’s men in action on home soil ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

“It’ll be my first time there as well as a Leicester player,” Ward, 25, told LCFC TV. “It wasn’t so good last time I turned up there with Liverpool. It would be great to see, especially if we can sell it out.

“It would be fantastic to get a real feel of the atmosphere and see what the boys have been working on. Hopefully it comes to fruition in that game.”

The Wales international shot-stopper is also looking forward to the prospect of facing a side who finished fourth in La Liga last season and will participate in this year’s UEFA Champions League.

He added: “As a footballer, you always want to test yourself against the best, I think they’ve proven, especially in the last couple of years, they’ve finished well in the league.

“They’ve got some brilliant results against the top sides in Spain and ultimately, you want to be playing the best as a footballer.

“I’m looking forward to the test, I know all the boys are looking forward to it and to get back to King Power Stadium will be fantastic.”
