Holiday Activities & Food Programme
Activity programmes normally take place over four hours a day for four days. Leicester City in the Community also provide flexible programmes that include shorter, one-day activities.
As a HAF provider, Leicester City in the Community creates engaging and educational experiences for each eligible participant, and goes the extra mile to ensure the experience is memorable.
As part of our Winter HAF provision in 2024, Leicester City in the Community took almost 200 eligible children on the Great Central Railway’s Santa Express for a once-in-a-lifetime festive experience, and ensured each child went home with a food hamper containing enough provisions for a week’s worth of meals.
Each eligible child will also be given a nutritious and healthy lunch on each programme day that they attend. The HAF programme is funded by the Department for Education.
