The Foxes were 2-1 up going into added time, through goals from Daka and James Maddison, but Steven Bergwijn struck twice in the latter stages to add to Harry Kane's earlier effort and win the clash for Spurs. It was an unbelievable ending to the game and a deeply frustrating one for City.

"If anyone was to tell me it was going to end that way, I wouldn’t have believed that, but at the same time, it’s football," Daka told LCFC TV. "That’s why it’s a beautiful game. It can be frustrating, annoying. Tonight it didn’t go our way. We’re very heartbroken.

We have to stick together. We don’t point hands. We’ve got each other, so we have to help each other to do better in the next game.

"When you are in this kind of moment, everyone is feeling low. The manager is there to show that he’s there for us. We just have to learn from what has happened tonight. We have to stick together. We don’t point hands. We’ve got each other, so we have to help each other to do better in the next game."

Leicester remain without several players due to injury, but Daka, who himself has been out since just before Christmas, says it is the responsibility of those who are fit and available to step up. City welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to King Power Stadium on Sunday (2pm GMT kick-off).

Daka: Sometimes, It's Football

Patson Daka analyses Leicester City's Premier League defeat by Spurs.

"It’s so unfortunate that things have happened like this," he added. "We’ve had so many injuries. Also, the players going to the AFCON. At the end of the day, we have to realise that every person who is there, as long as you’re signed for this Club, you have to be ready to take the chance and the opportunity.

"Everyone is here to play. When you get the chance, you have to take the responsibility. You have to do everything to help the team and I’m glad that, at this point, I’m fully healed and I can do my best."
