A crucial clash in the fight to secure WSL status for next season, City welcome the Royals to King Power Stadium on Sunday in a 3pm BST kick-off, with tickets remaining available to purchase online HERE.

And Kirk shared some positive news from the Foxes camp in Friday afternoon’s pre-match press conference with the media.

The 44-year-old will have the same squad available to him, with only the long-term absentees, including Lachante Paul and Abbie McManus out of contention, though both are continuing their rehabilitation and recovery at Belvoir Drive.

There is also hope that Jess Sigsworth and Shannon O’Brien will be able to return to the matchday squad before the end of the campaign. City’s No.9 Sigsworth recently took part in full contact training for the first time in over 12 months.

He commented: “Everybody that was available last week is available this week, so there’s nothing new to report, which is good.”

Kirk is confident the group can become rejuvenated ahead of the season run-in, to gain the momentum at an opportune moment and breathe new life into the campaign.

He added: “We want the players to be energised by it and understand that we’re playing at the top level of the game and the pressure is a good thing, because without pressure, it wouldn’t matter.

“There are a lot of positives that come with that pressure. It’s about trying to identify them and using them to give us energy, rather than take our energy away. Pressure can be debilitating as well. It’s about how we find the right pressure points to energise us.”
