The fight to retain Barclays Women’s Super League status intensifies with every matchday, no more so than when two of the teams propping up the bottom of the table face off, as is the case this weekend.

For the Foxes, it has been all about moving on from a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa last time out, though January signing Siemsen revealed it has been a smooth transition into concentrating on the Reading fixture.

“We’ve got a really good week of training under our belt,” the forward commented. “Coming off the Villa loss, we came back and wanted to address things that we could sharpen and tidy up for this week’s game.

Foxes Train For WSL Match With Reading

A look at LCFC Women's training this week at Belvoir Drive as City prepare to welcome Reading to King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

“Obviously, the result was disappointing but there were a lot of good passages of play that we had. As a group, we did a good job of analysing our previous game, with what we wanted to improve on and we’ve really adapted.

“We shifted focus straight away. We can’t sit after losses, we need to move on, and I think we’ve really collectively gone in stronger this week. We all have a great mentality and vibe around the group.”

Four points separate the sides heading into the game, with City, at the foot of the table as things stand, aiming to close the gap. There is no lack of belief inside the Foxes camp that this can be achieved.

The Australian international continued: “We have true belief within this team. I know that we have the calibre of players that can get the job done. We definitely have the talent to stay up and I truly believe in that. I know every player within the squad, as well as the staff, believe in that too, and hopefully we can start getting the results.

Whoever is starting and coming off the bench, we know we’ve got a job to do. We’re going out for the three points.

“But collectively, we’ve said we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. We’re just taking it week by week, training session by training session, and focusing on the next challenge that is ahead of us. For us this week, that’s Reading and we know how important the game is.

“We’re focused on us and the way that we want to play. We’ve been playing some really good football and have been unlucky with some results. I feel we’re going to turn it around this weekend. Whoever is starting and coming off the bench, we know we’ve got a job to do. We’re going out for the three points.”

The Berkshire club claimed all three points when the sides met in the reverse league fixture and Leicester need to use playing on home soil to their advantage this time around, the 23-year-old believes, in order to gain a positive result on Filbert Way.

Siemsen Sensing Momentum Shift Ahead Of Royals Battle

Forward Remy Siemsen shares her thoughts prior to LCFC Women's home clash against Reading on Sunday.

“It’s going to be a great battle this weekend,” the St Leonards native added. “I think it’s a huge advantage that we get to play it at King Power Stadium. We always love seeing our supporters there and we always play really good football there, so we’re all looking forward to this weekend. Everyone is really pumped up and ready to go.

“We can’t underestimate any team. Anyone can win on any given day depending on which team wants it more. It’s obviously a big match and everyone knows that, but pressure is a privilege and if we have the right attitude heading into Sunday, we just need to play our brand our football and get the results from that.

“We have a group of fighters and I know we’re going to be coming out all guns blazing on Sunday.”
