Fatawu On West Brom & City’s Run-In

The upcoming visit of West Bromwich Albion is the only focus that Leicester City can hold at this stage of the season, according to Abdul Fatawu.

Back-to-back away defeats in the space of three days stalled Leicester’s progress towards the ultimate aim of promotion and the winger believes dealing with the mental side of those setbacks is just as important as the period they have had to recover physically.

Now itching to get back out on the pitch, the Ghanian international, who has provided 10 league assists this term, hopes to be able to make another contribution when the Baggies pitch up at King Power Stadium on Saturday for a 12:30pm BST kick-off in the Sky Bet Championship.

We just let everything go and we focus on the next games.

Enzo Maresca’s side know that a win would move themselves back into top spot, for the time being at least, but remaining calm in the face of adversity is the message from the 20-year-old.

Fatawu commented earlier this week: “Sometimes I think we’ve just been unlucky because how we play, I don’t think we’ve played badly, but you just need to score goals. I can’t even explain how the game goes but sometimes we just need some luck to put the ball into the back of the net.

“It’s good because we have good people around us and people in the team who help. It doesn’t really get into your head. People know how to speak to you and help us to get more confidence and go again. We just let everything go and we focus on the next games.

“It makes it easier to prepare and rest as well for the rest of the games. It’s a good thing for us to focus. We’re looking towards the games and especially this Saturday because we’re going game-by-game. After that, we’ll focus on the rest of the games.”

Winks The Hero In West Brom Triumph

All the major moments from a dramatic late victory for Leicester City at West Bromwich Albion.

West Brom are very much in the play-off picture and close to confirming their spot in the top six. But with home advantage on their side, the Sporting Lisbon loanee is confident of claiming a positive result on Filbert Way, as the Foxes did at The Hawthorns earlier this campaign courtesy of Harry Winks’ stoppage-time winner.

He added: “They are a good team as well and we need to be stronger than them and with the team that we have, it is going to be a good game.

“That’s beneficial for us because it’s our home and we have everyone behind us and the support of the fans as well. It’s going to be helpful for us and we’re just looking forward to the game.”
