Leicester City Development Squad assistant manager Ben Petty says his players will pick themselves up after losing 3-0 to Arsenal in Premier League 2 on Monday night.

The Foxes went into the clash at Meadow Park on the back of three consecutive victories, against Tottenham Hotspur, Reading and Derby, but were unable to add another on a testing evening in Hertfordshire.

Eddie Nketiah’s hat-trick proved to be enough for the Gunners to collect all three points but Petty says he and manager Steve Beaglehole are not too disheartened by the performance of their players against strong opposition.

He told LCFC TV at full-time: “Obviously we are very disappointed with the score-line.

“We came with a real confidence and we were in good form, six unbeaten in the league, but I think too many players had an off night.

“We’ve had a terrific run, their goals came at the right time, but we created some really good chances.

“We weren’t clinical enough tonight but we’ve tried not to be too critical of the players because they’ve been terrific recently.

“We’ve just got to learn from our mistakes. Even though we lost tonight, we created so many chances and we just need to tidy up one or two areas.

“We don’t want it to knock the lads’ confidence because we will pick ourselves up and try and go on another run.”
