Claudio Ranieri insists it is fundamental that Leicester City get a positive result at AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday night to continue the momentum created by the victory against Manchester City.

The Foxes travel to the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday (7.45pm kick-off) on the back of a brilliant 4-2 success against Pep Guardiola’s title-challengers and Ranieri has called upon his players to continue in the same manner against the Cherries.

Eddie Howe’s men have made an strong start to the Premier League campaign and the City boss says he has been impressed by their progress in only their second campaign in the English top-flight.

Speaking on Saturday evening, Ranieri said: “Bournemouth impressed me last season. They played so well and at the beginning of this season they have played well and got a lot of points.

“For us it’s very important not to lose there and not to lose at Stoke because we want to keep this momentum in the right way.

“I expect a battle and a lot of skill because they move the ball very well. It’s a good team who play always together and it will be another big battle.”

Ranieri is yet to decide how many changes he will make on the South Coast but he will be forced into removing Danny Simpson from his side for the encounter after the right-back picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Manchester City.

The Foxes boss continued: “After Man City, it is not easy. We made this kind of performance because I changed all my players.

“Only Wes Morgan played in Porto. Let me see how they react, how they recover, and then I will choose who is ready to play in Bournemouth.

“One change I have to do but let me think and coach before the match. In the summer I said to Jamie [Vardy] 'made this dream true, stay with us and keep going because we want to continue to dream'.

“Now he has started to sleep and dream, it’s good.

“If you lose the next two matches, you forget this great performance. For us it is fundamental to get points from Bournemouth and Stoke. They will be big battles but with these warriors I am very confident.”
