Kasper Schmeichel expects nothing less than a difficult challenge against FC Copenhagen, but hopes his side can make it three wins from three in the UEFA Champions League.

The Foxes resume their European campaign on Tuesday against the Danish champions, who are yet to lose a game this season.

Schmeichel is under no illusions as to the task his side face, but believes City can build on their victories over Club Brugge and FC Porto in Group G.

“We obviously had a great start in the Champions League and we’re looking to make it three wins – that would be absolutely fantastic,” Schmeichel told LCFC TV.

“We’ve had one experience of European football at home and it was amazing. It left a massive impression on all of the players so we hope that we can recreate that.

“Any win in Europe against the type of opposition that you’re up against is great and another win would be fantastic for us.

“It’s going to be very tough because FC Copenhagen are a very disciplined side and they’re very tough to beat.

“They’ve had a very good start in their own campaign. They’ll be going into the game with a lot of confidence and so will we.”

City have recorded shutouts in both Champions League fixtures and Schmeichel says that is down to his side's resilience in Europe.

The Denmark international stopper added: “Clean sheets are nice but they’re not vital. They provide the foundation to win games and we are very happy as a defence about the way we’ve defended in the last two Champions League games.

“We’re under no illusion that we’re going to come up against a different type of strike force, so it’s going to be tough, but we’ve been up against those type of players before, so we’re ready.

“They’ve got some momentum and belief and we know what that’s like. They’ve had some good results in the league. The Champions League is a different kettle of fish, but they’ll be confident, so we’re all looking forward to it.”
