Leonardo Ulloa and Nampalys Mendy were guests of honour at the Junior Foxes Christmas Party on Thursday afternoon – signing autographs and posing for photos with the Premier League trophy.

The City pair were joined at Megazone Leicester by Filbert Fox and Santa Claus to help spread some festive cheer with members of the Blue Army and to thank them for their support throughout 2016, a year etched into the memories of all supporters of the Club.

Ulloa, speaking to LCFC TV at the special event in the heart of Leicester, said: “It’s very nice for us to meet the children before the Christmas. It’s nice for both us and the children.

“We need to make something for the children because it’s important for them. They like the team and the trophy also. It’s very important they can enjoy the merriment.

“I love occasions like this and it’s great to meet the supporters. We know how they feel when they see us or watch some games so to meet us is massive.

“I know how much they enjoy it when they feel close to the players.”

Mendy, meanwhile, joined the City entourage and was overjoyed to get the opportunity to meet some of the Club’s youngest supporters before Christmas.

He said: “I am very happy because when I see the children enjoying the day, for me and Leo is very good. It is important because Leicester City is the Club of the city.

“It’s important for all the people to have a good relationship with us. It’s great for the players and for the fans.”

Oliver Purser, aged 7, also spoke to LCFC TV and said he was overwhelmed by his first face-to-face encounter with the Premier League trophy.

“I was surprised a lot,” he said. “My favourite match this season was against Porto and my favourite player is Ahmed Musa. He is good at crossing in and letting people score.

“He is very fast, almost the fastest but [Jamie] Vardy is the fastest. My favourite match was against Arsenal. Even though we lost we still tried our best. We won lots of matches after that.”
