Wes Wants Watford Win

City captain Wes Morgan says the team should draw on the positives of their recent form ahead of Saturday’s trip to Watford, rather than dwelling on defeat to Crystal Palace.

The weekend defeat to the Eagles was the Foxes’ first on home soil this term and their first defeat of any kind in eight games.

But despite being knocked off the npower Championship summit, Morgan is eyeing a quick recovery at Vicarage Road.

“Saturday was very disappointing, it was our first home defeat and the boys were feeling it in the dressing room,” said the City skipper.

“We have to bounce back. We can’t keep our heads down; we have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and go again, starting with Watford.

“I think we have to reflect on previous performances before Palace, because we’ve been in fantastic form.

“We’ll be working hard in training this week because we all want the win at Watford. That’s what we’ll be aiming for.”

Although his players continued to battle until the final whistle, City boss Nigel Pearson admitted after Saturday’s defeat that too many members of the squad were off-colour against the Eagles.

Morgan agreed that there were some heavy-looking legs in the camp, but has vowed that the players will move on from defeat quickly.

“I thought the boys looked a bit jaded, we weren’t at our best and I think we can play better,” he said.

“We played much better in the second half, but we couldn’t get the goals we needed.

“We can’t dwell on it, it was just one of those days and we’ve got to move on from it.”
