Leicester City host Brighton and Hove Albion at King Power Stadium on Tuesday (6pm kick-off) in a behind-closed-doors fixture - their first home game since the return of Premier League.
While the Foxes are currently third in the table, Brighton, managed by Graham Potter, are looking to secure their top flight status for another season. Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal has moved the Seagulls five points clear of the relegation zone, with eight games remaining of the 2019/20 campaign.
“It’s clearly a big lift for them, it’s so important having conceded the first goal, to come from behind and win,” Naylor told LCFC TV's new City On The Sofa show, which is live from 5pm on Tuesday.
“Graham Potter pointed out afterwards how difficult that is in the Premier League. Brighton have been behind 1-0 25 times at home since coming into the Premier League, without winning, so it was a real turn around to produce that late winner from Neal Maupay.”
Despite taking three points at AMEX Stadium on Saturday, Naylor expects Potter to tinker with his starting XI for their trip to Leicestershire, in order to keep the squad fresh and give them the best chance of remaining in the division.
“They certainly would have expended a lot of energy to get the result against Arsenal,” he added. “A very good example of that is Yves Bissouma in midfield, who almost ran himself into exhaustion, and was taken off in injury time and ironically it was actually Alexis Mac Allister, his replacement, who started the move for the winning goal.
“But I’m sure Graham Potter will use the squad. He used all five subs against Arsenal and there were three players who weren’t included in the 20-man squad.
“He had Steven Alzate, who had a slight groin problem, and Alireza Jahanbakhsh which was a tactical decision, so I think we will see a few changes from Brighton and he’ll make use of what is quite a deep squad in terms of them being quite level.
“Brighton could field two teams out of their squad and there wouldn’t be an awful lot to choose between them.”
Naylor sees top goalscorer Neal Maupay as Albion’s danger man going forward, after the striker netted a late winner in their victory against the Gunners.
“Maupay will probably be the main threat,” Naylor continued.
“He’s got nine goals now, that’s six more than any other player. You saw against Arsenal, he’s got that edge about him, which is a good thing.
“That mobility, that movement, keeps defenders occupied, so he would be the stand out threat for Brighton.”
LCFC TV’s matchday offering kicks off at 5pm with City On The Sofa, as Gerry Taggart, Steve Walsh and Tony Cottee join Dan Bates for three hours of unrivalled coverage. Live and free LCFC Radio commentary of the game is available from 5:50pm with commentator Chris Parrott and former Leicester captain Matt Elliott, while you can also watch the game live on Sky Sports from 5:30pm.
