- Blackburn Rovers visit King Power Stadium in the FA Cup on Tuesday- Leicester City are bidding to reach the quarter-finals of the historic competition- Goalkeeper Daniel Iversen has spoken to CITY, the official programme, this week- He expects Jon Dahl Tomasson's to pose a stern test on Filbert Way
The Danish shot-stopper is yet to concede after making four appearances this term, two of which came in FA Cup victories over Gillingham and Walsall. Blackburn Rovers are next up on Tuesday at King Power Stadium (7:30pm kick-off), with a place in the quarter-finals at stake. "It’s a really good opportunity for us to go through in the FA Cup again," the former Preston North End loanee told CITY, the official LCFC programme. "We obviously want to go as far as we can because that would be another step closer to winning it again.
"People still talk about it now (the 2020/21 FA Cup success) and there are pictures all around the training ground. You can still see how big that was for this club and we would love to win it again with this squad."
Blackburn are a team Iversen knows well and, although things have changed at Ewood Park under Jon Dahl Tomasson's management, the 25-year-old is expecting a difficult tie.
"I would say it’s going to be a tough, tough game," he added. "I played against them last season when I was with Preston and they’re a difficult side to play against.
"I know things have changed there a bit but they’ve still got some good players and even though it’s a new manager, he’s still a good manager also. They’re in the play-off places in their league so we’re going to need to do well if we want to beat them because they’ll come and keep it tight I’m sure."
