- James Justin reflects on Leicester City’s goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday- City took park in their second fixture of pre-season and recorded another shutout- Justin played from start to finish for the Foxes at Loughborough University Stadium- The right-back regarded the Owls as a ‘step up’ in opposition
The City No.2 was the only player to complete 90 minutes for the Foxes during a stalemate in north Leicestershire, first operating at right-back before switching to the left-hand side of a back four and in turn showing his adaptivity.
Justin, who will now report for England Under-21s duty during the international break, says City will continue to build up their fitness in both training and friendly action, with their Premier League opener at West Bromwich Albion now just 20 days away.
He told LCFC TV: “I think it was good, a good test for us and definitely a step up from the game on Wednesday, and you could see that in the tempo that the game was played with. And then, obviously the 'keeper's done well to keep it at 0-0, really.
“I've come back in good shape because we've only been off a few weeks, so I'm capable of playing 90 minutes and I showed that today.
“In general, in training we feel really fit, but obviously games are a different kettle of fish, so after the international break, everyone hopefully gets minutes wherever they are, and we'll be ready to start the season.”
Manager Brendan Rodgers, speaking to LCFC TV at full-time on Saturday, indicated a number of the Club’s youngsters will continue to be involved in his plans next week, and Justin praised their efforts so far in pre-season.
He added: “You try and give your input whenever you can and help them, because that's what people did when I was in their position.
"We've got some talented youngsters and hopefully they can make that step through.”
