- Harvey Barnes earns maiden call-up to the England senior national team- The Leicester City Academy graduate has represented his country's U18s, U20s and U21s - Barnes joined the Football Club as a nine year-old and has made 66 appearances for City- England host Wales in a friendly next Thursday before entertaining Belgium and Denmark in the UEFA Nations League

Barnes, who joined the Club as a nine year-old in 2007, was brought up in Countesthorpe, Leicestershire, and is now a prominent member of the Foxes' first team squad.

Since making his senior debut for the Football Club in the UEFA Champions League in 2016, the 22-year-old winger has made 66 first team appearances for Leicester.

At international level, Barnes has represented his country at both the Toulon Tournament - ending the 2017 contest as joint-top goalscorer - and at the 2019 UEFA U21 European Championship.

This term, he has been integral to City winning all three of their opening 2020/21 Premier League fixtures, leaving them top of the early standings, while he also netted in a 4-2 success over Burnley.

Barnes follows the likes of Peter Shilton, Gary Lineker, Emile Heskey and Ben Chilwell to emerge through the Club's youth ranks to earn a call-up for the England side.

After earning four caps for England Under-21s, he could make his Three Lions debut when they host Wales in an international friendly at Wembley Stadium on Thursday (8pm kick-off).

Gareth Southgate's men then entertain Belgium in the capital for a UEFA Nations League clash the following Sunday (5pm kick-off) and Denmark on Wednesday 14 October (7:45pm kick-off).
