The visitors have made an impressive start to the season with three wins out of the three to sit third in the early top-flight standings, while the Foxes are searching for their first triumph in the division.
Here’s all the key information you need ahead of the capital club arriving in Leicester…
Talking points
Manager Jonathan Morgan commented on the support from Foxes fans in Friday’s press conference: “We have the added benefit of having the fans in and that’s going to make a massive difference just hearing them all cheering us on. We’re looking forward to it again on Sunday.”
Defender Abbie McManus on facing her former team: “They’re a good group of girls with a really good team spirit. They’ve smashed the league at the start of the season so far. They’re on a really good run, but it’s not something we’re scared of.”
The opposition dugout
Tottenham head coach Rehanne Skinner is a former LCFC Women player, who also progressed through the coaching ranks with the Foxes. She took on the roles of Girls Centre of Excellence Technical Director, Girls Under-19 Academy Director, Community Manager, and Women’s First Team Manager.
In November 2020, Rehanne took over as Tottenham Hotspur Women’s head coach, looking to continue the 11-year success of Karen Hills and the nine-year reign of Juan Carlos Amorós. In Skinner, Spurs have a coach with lucrative experience across club and international football.
Spurs finished eighth in the 2020/21 WSL and Skinner will now be looking to improve further during her first full season in charge.
Ones to watch
Versatile defender Ria Percival has played every minute of Spurs’ league campaign this term and is an important cog in Rehanne Skinner’s side. The New Zealand international, who signed for Spurs in 2019 after spending a year at West Ham United, has played over 150 times for her country. She previously represented clubs across the United Women’s Soccer League, Bundesliga and Nationalliga A.
Moroccan international, Rosella Ayane, joined Tottenham in 2019, after leaving Bristol City. The Reading-born forward began her senior career at Chelsea, in 2013. Ayane had multiple loan spells from 2015 onwards at Millwall, Bristol City and Everton before moving to join Cypriot First Division club, Apollon Limassol. At 25-years-old, the forward has scored 33 goals in 113 league appearances, 40 of which have been at Spurs. After two substitute appearances, she will be keen to make her first WSL start of 2021/22 on Sunday.
A summer signing from Reading, Molly Bartrip has already impressed in Tottenham’s backline, helping to keep back-to-back home clean sheets against Birmingham City and her former club, Reading. Before joining the Lilywhites, the English defender spent seven seasons with the Royals, racking up over a century of appearances. Another player yet to miss a minute of action this season, the 25-year-old’s experience has been key for the north London club.

Last time out
The two sides are meeting in a competitive fixture for the third time, with both previous encounters going the way of the visitors.
During the 2019/20 FA Women’s Championship campaign, Spurs triumphed 3-0 at Farley Way Stadium in September 2018 thanks to goals from Sarah Wiltshire and Rianna Dean. A single goal settled the reverse fixture in February 2019, scored by Angela Addison.
How to follow
Sunday’s fixture will be covered extensively on LCFC Women’s official social media channels, with team news to be announced at 1pm, before in-game updates updates and behind-the-scenes across the afternoon.
After the full-time whistle blows on Filbert Way, a round-up of the day’s events will be available to read on LCFC.com, as well as post-match interviews with members of the Foxes’ dressing room on LCFC TV.
The match is set to be streamed live and for free on The FA Player and you can also catch extended highlights of the best of action on the Club’s in-house TV channel from midday on Monday.
