- Harvey Barnes added his second goal for Barnsley in a 1-1 draw with QPR on Tuesday- The Leicester City youngster has made a big impression for the Sky Bet Championship side- Callum Elder appeared for Wigan Athletic from the bench in a 1-0 success over Plymouth Argyle- Papy Mendy could represent Nice in the UEFA Europa League against Vitesse Arnhem on Thursday
The 19-year-old Academy product, who was named as the Club’s Development Squad Player of the Season for 2016/17, has been a hit for Paul Heckingbottom’s south Yorkshire outfit this term.
Following a successful loan spell with League 1 side MK Dons during 2016/17, Barnes joined the Tykes on a season-long loan deal this summer, after joining City's seniors in Hong Kong back in July.
Inside 20 minutes at Oakwell, the Foxes ace hit it first time from 20 yards, curling it beyond QPR goalkeeper Alex Smithies to give his adopted club a deserved advantage over Ian Holloway's men.
However, with just three minutes of normal time remaining, Luke Freeman scored a similarly audacious goal from distance to secure a share of the spoils for the Londoners.
Australian full back Callum Elder, on the other hand, was a 62nd minute substitute for Wigan Athletic during their 1-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle in League 1.
The 22-year-old gained experience on loan with Brentford and Barnsley during the last campaign before featuring under Craig Shakespeare for City’s first team in pre-season.
