- Leicester City Under-18s travel to face Southampton Under-18s at Staplewood Training Ground on Saturday- The Foxes have lost their opening three Premier League Under-18 fixtures- Coach Adam Barradell reflects on City's start to the season and identifies areas for improvement- He also looks ahead to this weekend's game on the south coast (1pm BST kick-off)
City have fallen short in their opening three U18 Premier League South fixtures, all played away from home, to Aston Villa, Norwich City and Reading.
Although it has not been the start to the season that he wanted, Barradell sees plenty of positives to take forward into Saturday's game, away at Southampton (1pm BST kick-off).
Speaking to LCFC.com earlier this week, he expressed why he believes it's only a matter of time before results will turn in City's favour.
"We've not quite hit the performance level we want in and out of possession, but we're looking to build on that against Southampton," Barradell commented.
"We're looking to get our intensity right, our quality on the ball right and our discipline right, to try and get that complete performance that we've not quite had yet.
"It's an opportunity where the boys are together and travelling together, it's a great opportunity for the group to gel and bond.
"It's one we're looking to turn into a positive and come after Christmas, when we're playing a lot of games at home, it will certainly bode well for us."
The young Foxes found the net five times in those first three games, but conceded nine, and Barradell admits it is an area that needs to be improved, in order to start picking up points.
"It should be a good game," he continued. "In terms of shape and formation, they will be probably matched up similar to us. It's always a good game of football in terms of quality and possession.
"We're always going to create, we've got some excellent attacking players. We've got to be more disciplined when defending and with our intensity.
"As soon as we get a complete performance out of possession, I'm sure the results will follow."
Several Under-18s players have made the step up to Under-23s football this season, which has given Barradell the chance to develop more youngsters within the Under-18s setup.
He added: "It's great first of all to see the boys stepping up into the Development Squad, that's fantastic. I think to have first-year scholars playing is great for the Club.
"It also gives us an opportunity to play Under-16s in the Under-18s and have a look at some of those for next year.
"So it's a great opportunity for the staff to have a look at the boys within some really good situations."
