In 1963, Leicester City made a giant stride into the modern game. They invested £17,000 – around £364,000 in today’s value – in the purchase of the ‘Belvoir Drive Sports Ground’. A space that, while only little over three kilometres down the road from Filbert Street - the Club's former stadium - felt a million miles away from the days spent on a car park.
It would take years to build the state-of-the-art Belvoir Drive we know today. Formerly the men's team training ground, true football legends have walked the corridors in this site.
The training ground today hosts LCFC Women; and it’s their time to dream of the possibilities it could bring. Equipped with nine full-size pitches, a 3G surface and an indoor dome, alongside an indoor gymnasium, treatment rooms and office space, Belvoir Drive has been regularly developed and enhanced throughout King Power International's custodianship of the Club since 2010.
An outstanding, professional working environment which has been Leicester City's spiritual home for over half a century, it is a facility which will now allow LCFC Women to continue their progression as a bold new era takes shape for women’s football in Leicestershire.
Ground-level office space is available for the Club's Content & Creative Team at Belvoir Drive, alongside LCFC Woman administration and football staff. Food is prepared daily inside a staff restaurant - the exact room where Foxes legends from Gary Lineker to Jamie Vardy once dined. Ample parking is also provided for Leicester City staff.
