- The Club's Under-18s will face Portsmouth in the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday evening- Last season, the young Foxes reached the Quarter-Final stage of the competition- Trevor Peake's men are in impressive form this season in U18 Premier League South
While the Club’s Development Squad also face Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park in the Checkatrade Trophy on the same evening, Trevor Peake’s young Foxes will hope to seal safe passage to the Fourth Round. Last season, City reached the Quarter-Final stage of the competition only to be defeated by eventual winners and Under-18s champions Chelsea at King Power Stadium.
"We've had a really good season so far," Peake said recently. "We mentioned last year how young we were, not so much as an excuse for results, but as a grounding for the younger age group.
"You always hope that will give them experience and knowhow that they can use to progress and that is exactly what has happened. It's been a wonderful few weeks for them all.
"The other factor is togetherness and a willingness to learn. They clock up some miles, they are really hard working as a group and some players are catching the eye.”
