- LCFC Women made it four league wins in a row with victory over Charlton Athletic Women- Natasha Flint and Remi Allen were on the scoresheet at The Oakwood to secure three points- The Foxes' recent good run of form and current league position is pleasing, says Charlie Devlin- The midfielder assisted Allen's goal and adds that she is happy to help the team in any way she can
The Foxes continue to lead second-place Durham by a point and backed up progression in the Continental Tyres League Cup in midweek with a solid performance against the Addicks to grind out the three points. The attacking midfielder was thrilled to maintain Leicester's position at the top of the FA Women's Championship table, whilst also keeping another clean sheet - a fourth in five games in all competitions. "We're on a good team run," Devlin told LCFC TV after the game. "We've got quality team players and we're showing that now. "I'm proud of the team and proud to be a part of this team. We keep executing game plans and if we keep getting good results then that is all we can ask for."
Talking through the afternoon's two goals, Devlin was full of praise for teammate Natasha Flint, whose excellent strike opened up the scoring in south London. The 22-year-old also spoke about the role she played in Remi Allen's second-half finish, which doubled their advantage against Devlin's former club, the team she left to join the Foxes last season. "It was a brilliant goal and she (Natasha Flint) is a quality player," Devlin said. "If she keeps doing what she's doing then we're all happy.
"It was just a bit of trickery (for the second goal), I enjoyed that goal from Remi [Allen], I enjoy assisting her and it's good to do whatever I can for the team.
"At the end of the day, I'm a Leicester player now and I've got a job to do. Hopefully I carry on doing that job."
Leicester have just one fixture left before the Christmas break - an away trip to face Blackburn Rovers at Bamber Bridge on Sunday 20 December (2pm kick-off GMT) - a game which will be broadcast live on The FA Player.
Devlin is keen for City to continue a four-game winning streak in Lancashire and maintain their position at the summit of the table going into the second round of league fixtures.
She added: "We're all training well, we're all connecting as a team and we've just got to keep doing what we're doing on the pitch and getting the results we need, so we can hopefully go further in front of everyone."
