- Forward Josh Eppiah spoke to LCFC TV following Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Portsmouth- The Development Squad are top of Group F in the Premier League Cup after the result - Eppiah struck for the Foxes in the 86th minute to rescue a draw for his side- The Belgian striker hopes that effort can help him enjoy a successful run in front of goal
While City were unable to secure all three points, they still remain five clear at the top of Group F ahead of a showdown with second-placed Everton at Holmes Park on Monday 26 February. Eppiah, who was the top goalscorer during Leicester’s triumphant Hong Kong Citi Soccer Sevens campaign in May, wants to continue his scoring form in the final months of the season. He told LCFC TV: “I was over the moon, I just looked at the linesman and thought ‘oh amazing, it’s gone in!’ I’m buzzing. Obviously happy for the team as well to get the equaliser.
“We’ve got to keep grinding and scoring more hopefully. It was a good game, we battled. It was one of those games when we didn’t really have a comfortable position.
“The team did try and we came out in the second half and put in a good performance."
Now City have a great chance in the Premier League Cup, Eppiah says the Foxes are determined to end the Premier League 2 season strongly too.
“We’re doing good in the group and hopefully we’ll win the group as well and go through and bounce back and keep doing what we need to do to keep progressing.
“It’s been perfect for the team but, obviously for myself, I think it’s frustrating because I’m not finding the net. As a team, I’m buzzing for the team because there’s a lot we can do as team."
