Having last played competitively on 17 December, in a home draw with West Ham United, the Foxes continued their push towards the Barclays Women's Super League restart with a 2-2 draw against the Blues at Belvoir Drive on Sunday.
The visitors, currently top of the Barclays Women's Championship, started the better of the two sides and raced into a two-goal lead, with former Fox Libby Smith scoring for the away side.
But Leicester came back, via goals from Jutta Rantala and Ava Baker, to draw level, as Willie Kirk's squad, including new signings Saori Takarada and Yuka Momiki, got some vital minutes in the tank ahead of Sunday's Adobe Women's FA Cup clash with Derby County.
City then turn attention back to the WSL and a home fixture against fellow Midlands side Aston Villa the following week. Sitting eighth in the table, collecting 10 points from 10 games so far this term, Kirk's side are one point and one place above the Villans heading into that encounter.
