The Foxes face Chelsea in the 2020/21 final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening (5:15pm kick-off), aiming to win the prestigious trophy for the first time.
And to commemorate the Club reaching this stage of the competition, supporters have been reminiscing about cup final events from over half a century ago.
Part of the Then, Now & Forever scheme, a Sporting Memories initiative first launched in January 2019, it attempts to unlock the emotions of yesteryear by engaging with older supporters.
Speaking on Zoom, Leicester City's dedicated Club Historian John Hutchinson gave a detailed account of all four of City's final appearances, including the first one from 1949, through to the fourth in 1969, providing nuggets of trivia along the way.
Hutchinson presented a range of memorabilia from the Club's archives relating to each of the cup finals, including runners-up medals, special edition souvenir programmes and match tickets, as well as photographs of the squads.
He also explained Leicester's links to the Fox and how the animal became synonymous with the Club crest, entertaining the virtual audience along the way.
After a presentation, Hutchinson hosted an informal Q&A with participants, answering any questions posed about Leicester's post-war glory years.
The online workshop events are free to attend, open to all City supporters and are tailored around the Club’s rich heritage.
Designed primarily to help tackle dementia, depression, loneliness and social isolation amongst elderly fans, the sessions offer a relaxed and entertaining virtual environment for fans to enjoy.
