After keeping out Millwall during a goalless draw at The Den on Tuesday, the Denmark shot-stopper earned another shutout on the road four days later, in the 1-0 defeat of Hull City. It was a third clean sheet in four games, a run the Lancashire outfit will look to extend when hosting promotion-chasing Huddersfield Town this Wednesday evening (7:45pm kick-off).
In League 1, meanwhile, forward George Hirst played 83 minutes for Portsmouth during their 3-2 loss at home to Oxford United on Saturday – a third straight defeat for the south coast outfit, who sit 13th and are without a win in six games. Danny Cowley’s side led until the 82nd minute and were beaten by an Oxford winner six minutes into added time.
The 22-year-old has scored twice in 22 league appearances this campaign and will be hoping to add to that tally tonight (Tuesday) when Burton Albion visit Fratton Park in a 7:45pm kick-off.
Staying in the third tier, Callum Wright started Cheltenham Town’s 2-2 draw with relegation rivals AFC Wimbledon last Tuesday, playing 89 minutes at Plough Lane. The midfielder has featured 17 times this term, scoring five goals and registering one assist.
The Robins are four points above the drop zone as they look to avoid an immediate return to League 2 and could move further away from danger when they welcome Sunderland to Whaddon Road this evening (7:45pm kick-off).
Four days after signing, Kasey McAteer made his Forest Green Rovers debut on Tuesday, coming off the bench for the final 22 minutes of the League 2 leaders’ 1-1 draw with Port Vale.
Rovers opened up a 10-point gap at the top after beating Newport County on Saturday, though McAteer was not in the squad. Their next fixture is tonight, against Rochdale, at The New Lawn (7:45pm kick-off).
Elsewhere, Josh Eppiah’s Northampton Town bow came 71 minutes into a 1-0 home win over Salford City, a day after the forward joined the Cobblers until the end of the season. Three days later, he started against AFC Barrow, in a one-goal defeat at Sixfields, playing 67 minutes.
The 23-year-old was then an unused substitute in a 1-0 success at Walsall on Saturday, which featured an appearance from the bench for fellow loanee Tyrese Shade, who came on for the final 19 minutes at Banks’s Stadium, making his 21st league appearance of the season for the Saddlers.
Next up, Eppiah’s side host Newport County – the team sitting just one place and one point behind fourth-placed Town in the table - tonight (7:45pm kick-off).
Walsall, meanwhile, travel to Scunthorpe United, also in a 7:45pm kick-off, hoping to put further daylight between them and the side at the foot of the EFL.
Jake Wakeling was twice an unused substitute for AFC Barrow last week, as the Bluebirds picked up four points from games against Northampton and Tranmere Rovers to move eight points clear of relegation.
The 20-year-old, waiting his first goal for the club after three appearances, will be hoping to feature against Hartlepool Town tonight, in a 7:45pm kick-off at Victoria Park.
Following a Deadline Day move to Dundee, right-back Vontae Daley-Campbell made his debut against rivals Dundee United the following evening, playing 57 minutes of the derby and helping the hosts secure a clean sheet.
The defender, 20, started again on Saturday when Ross County were the visitors to Dens Park but was sent off in stoppage time as the Scottish Premiership’s bottom side fell to a 2-1 defeat.
Staying in Scotland, goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk’s time north of the border began with a 1-1 draw at Ayr, as he made his first Dunfermline appearance in the Scottish Championship. The young shot-stopper could be involved again when the Pars travel to Kilmarnock on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Over in Italy, Dennis Praet played 90 minutes for Torino on Sunday as they lost 2-0 at home to Udinese, courtesy of two stoppage-time goals from the hosts at Dacia Arena.
Currently sitting 10th in Serie A with 32 points from 23 games, Il Toro are next in action on Saturday, entertaining Venezia in a 7:45pm kick-off.
