Furthermore, employees took part in emotional resilience challenges, while Ian Costello shared his story about how Leicester City in the Community’s walking football sessions helped him to improve his mental health.
Keri Lawrence, Development and Sustainability Officer at Mind, said: “Events like these are absolutely essential for workplaces, so full credit to Leicester City for hosting such a wonderful event.
“It’s really important that everyone recognises they have mental health and to know where to turn to, so it’s fantastic that everyone is supporting each other here and that the Football Club have such a dedicated group of Mental Health Champions.”
Building on the Club’s commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of its employees, the Mental Health Champions group aim to challenge the stigma of mental health in the workplace and are at the forefront of increasing understanding and awareness of the subject.
They focus on changing attitudes, creating opportunities to start up conversations, dispel myths and make it easier for colleagues to seek help.
World Mental Health Day will take place on Sunday 10 October, and is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma.
