Leicester City In The 21st Century: A Glorious Period For The Foxes
From 2008 onwards, Leicester City embarked on an incredible rise through English football, from the third tier, to the Premier League title in 2016.
After looking back on the Club's eight seasons between 2000/1 and 2007/08 last month, LCFC.com's daily picture series has moved on to happier times over the past week.
Guided by Nigel Pearson, the Foxes won promotion from Sky Bet League 1 at the first attempt in 2007/08, amassing 96 points along the way, as they lifted the third tier title.
Following Championship play-off heartbreak in Cardiff a year later, Pearson departed, to be replaced by Paulo Sousa, before Sven-Göran Eriksson's tenure in charge on Filbert Way.
The return of Pearson, though, from Hull City in 2011, allowed the Club to build the foundations for a Premier League return - a dream they would achieve at the end of the 2013/14 season.
Since then, City performed the 'Great Escape' from relegation the following year, before stunning the world to lift the Premier League title itself under Claudio Ranieri in May 2016.
An intrepid run in the UEFA Champions League, to the quarter-finals stage, then followed for Leicester, who were putting into place a series of plans to build for the future both on and off the pitch.
