Following the Club's qualification for the UEFA Europa League, the Foxes will enter the competition at the third round stage this season after reaching the semi-finals last term. City last lifted the famous trophy in 2000 as a brace of headers from captain Matt Elliott sealed a 2-1 victory over Tranmere Rovers in the last-ever League Cup final at the old Wembley.

Both the second and third round fixtures will be determined at approximately 2pm BST on Sunday 6 September, 2020 following Brentford's first round tie against Wycombe Wanderers.
Foxes supporters will be able to learn who Leicester could face in the third round by checking back to the Club's official social media channels and LCFC.com shortly afterwards. Who could the Foxes face?
There will be a full pool of sides from all regions and divisions by the time City enter the competition, with 13 Premier League teams due to join at the second round stage.
The remaining clubs, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal will enter in the third round.
When could the fixtures take place?
At present, it is expected that the third round ties will occur over 22/23 September, 2020, meaning City's fixture will take place between Premier League clashes with Burnley (H) and Manchester City (A).
