- Leicester City face Liverpool at Singapore National Stadium on Sunday (10am BST kick-off)- The game will be broadcast live for Digital Members on the Foxes Hub- Manager Enzo Maresca has called the Reds clash a 'good test' for his players
With one week to go until the new Sky Bet Championship campaign begins, City's final pre-season friendly of the summer puts them head-to-head with Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool side at Singapore National Stadium.
It's a grand finale for Leicester's summer preparations and it's a challenge which Maresca is excited by - as it'll allow him to see how his players perform against one of the best sides in world football.
"It’s a huge test," the Foxes Manager said in Saturday's press conference. "We face, for me, the best team in the world in terms of transition and pressing. It will be nice and a good test for us and then finally we can then start the season."
Closing in on his first competitive game in charge of the Club, at home to Coventry City next weekend, Maresca is eager to point out the true objectives of his work. The Italian is determined to improve his new players on a daily basis, allowing them to thrive and achieve the Club's wider targets.
"This is a process, day by day," he added. "There is never a limit for a team. Even when a team is playing well there is always room to improve. We started less than one month ago. There is big, big, big work to do.
"We try to keep the ball every time, it doesn’t matter the opponent. Sometimes we’ll do it more, sometimes less. The most important thing is the idea that we show day by day.
"My personal point of view is that the target is to improve every day, so the players get the idea. This is my target. The Championship is very hard. There are 23 more clubs that have the same target.
"At the end, only three clubs get promoted. It’s hard but we’re going to try."
