- LCFC Women's league return comes against Durham Women at Farley Way Stadium on Sunday (2pm kick-off)- City have picked up four points from their opening two league games- The Foxes also ran Manchester City close in last weekend's Women's FA Cup quarter-final, losing 2-1- You can follow the action this weekend via LCFC Women's official social media accounts and also find pre and post-match content on LCFC.com
City are looking to build on a positive opening to their first campaign as a professional outfit when they take on Durham at home this Sunday (2pm kick-off).
Their North East opponents have also made a solid start to 2020/21, picking up seven points from the opening three games.
Here's all you need to know about this weekend's fixture...
The Foxes camp
Jonathan Morgan could welcome back several players who were ineligible for Sunday's Women's FA Cup defeat to Manchester City, after signing for the Foxes over the summer.
The likes of goalkeeper Kirstie Levell, midfielder Ruesha Littlejohn and forwards Natasha Flint and Liv Fergusson are all in contention to be back in the squad for Sunday's visit of Durham.
Three to watch
Forward Beth Hepple scored the winner in Durham's last encounter and has netted four goals in the opening three games of the season.
A product of Durham's academy, she has 61 goals to her name in 148 games for the Wildcats, making her their all-time top goalscorer and the highest appearance holder within the current squad.
Centre-back Sarah Wilson is one of the North East club's longest-serving players, having joined the Wildcats in 2014. She is known for being a reliable presence in defence and also a threat in the opposition box.
Midfielder Mollie Lambert was a summer arrival at the club following an impressive stint at Sunderland in the National League. She has started two of Durham's opening three games of the season, whilst also coming off the bench against Lewes.
Talking points
LCFC Women captain Holly Morgan said: "We are well aware of who they are as a team and how they play, we can't deny the fact that it will be a tough contest but we're ready to go.
"We're excited for it and happy to be back to league games. We're working hard so we're looking forward to Sunday and putting on a show."
LCFC Women manager Jonathan Morgan said: "Durham are a very established team, everyone in the league knows that they are a tough team to play against.
"They are physical, but they are not just physical, they actually can play football as well so they've really worked hard on both sides of their games. They are one of those teams that can either win the league themselves or they will have a big say in who wins the league."
Form guide
Lee Sanders' side began the season with a hard fought 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Prenton Park, before recording their first victory, beating Lewes 3-0 at their new home ground, Maiden Castle.
Last time out, Durham defeated London City Lionesses 1-0 to extend their unbeaten run. The Wildcats sit third in the Championship table, level on points with the top two - Sheffield United and Liverpool.
The Foxes defeated Blackburn Rovers Ladies 3-0 in their opening FA Women's Championship fixture, before an entertaining 2-2 draw against Sheffield United Women, which leaves City in fourth position having only played two games.
Next up, Leicester host Liverpool on Sunday 11 October, (2pm kick-off), while Durham are set to face Crystal Palace at home on the same day (12pm kick-off).
Last time out
Durham got the better of the Foxes twice last season, winning 5-1 in the opening fixture of the 2019/20 season, before a narrow 1-0 victory at New Ferens Park in January 2020.
Team news
City will be missing captain Holly Morgan, who sat out Sunday's cup tie with Manchester City due to ligament damage in her foot, while forward Hannah Cain remains unavailable as she recovers from a broken foot, and midfielder Annabel Blanchard is also out with a knee injury.
