The Foxes will face Chelsea in the FA Cup showpiece on 15 May – the Club's first final in that competition for 52 years – after overcoming Southampton at Wembley Stadium in the last four on Sunday. Now, though, Rodgers' men have an exciting Premier League campaign to resume with Leicester currently occupying third place in the standings with seven matches to go. Sam Allardyce's Baggies are next up for City at King Power Stadium on Thursday (8pm BST kick-off). "There’s been a great feeling over these last couple of days," the Northern Irishman said. "There was just an incredible feeling of achievement. We had a day off yesterday (Monday) just to recover and relax, but I pulled in all the staff into the training facility this morning and said: ‘Listen, this is a victory for us all’.
"It’s not just the team, it’s everyone working here. They’re all connected to the success. But what is important is that you can’t be comfortable with it. That was my point. The Club is over 50 years since it’s been to the final, which is amazing, but when that comes, we want to win it.
"You don’t soften up. We want to be here, we want to be challenging. That’s what I said when I came into the Club. We set our base at this club towards the summit of this league so that we can challenge and fight for honours.
"Okay, there will be other teams that will be favourites, maybe, to do that, but we’re in it to try and challenge to win it. It’s great, celebrate it, but then get back in the next day, get focused and get working. Now we prepare for our next game. I’m delighted for the Club, of course."
Rodgers was thrilled to speak to Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha following Sunday's semi-final success before coming across many Foxes fans during a stroll in Bradgate Park in north Leicestershire. Their pleasure was evident to the 48-year-old, who now hopes to go one further and lift the trophy.
"I’m delighted for Khun Top, for the people of Leicester," he added. "I’ve heard many stories since I’ve been here about the FA Cup and what it means to all the fans. I was out yesterday in Bradgate Park, which is a beautiful part in Leicester, and speaking to supporters and people who have been to other finals.
"You see the real connection the Club has with the FA Cup. The notion of Leicester being in an FA Cup Final, you can just see it on peoples’ faces. The whole tradition of the cup, I’ve really been taken aback by the feeling here with Leicester and the supporters.
"I’ve been hearing some of the stories from 1969 and everything else. I think Leicester had a season ticket at Wembley in the ‘60s!
"There’s a real affinity for it and, of course, the fans are very proud of the team now. Hopefully, when that comes around, we can go the next step, make them even more proud and create history for the Club. That will be the aim when it comes.
"When you can bring that joy for people, of course, that makes you happy, but when it comes, I want to win it and take the next step for the Club. That will always be my focus."
West Brom, though, are set to pose a considerable challenge for Leicester on Thursday. In their last two top flight outings, the Baggies have secured high-scoring victories over Chelsea and Southampton and Rodgers was keen to highlight the nature of the task which awaits City on Filbert Way.
"It’ll be a very dangerous game for us," the former Liverpool manager said. "Sam, when he came out of the window, he was probably really happy with the business that he’d done, getting the players in that he wanted. They’ve shown, against Chelsea and Southampton, that they are a very dangerous team.
"Sam, as he does, he sets them up really well. Defensively, they’ve been strong, they haven’t conceded many goals.
"They’ve got players who are dynamic and can give you a problem. It’s the beauty of this league. Teams towards the bottom of the table are fighting for different reasons, so we know it’s going to be a really dangerous game, and that’s what we’re ready for.
"Every game is so dangerous, no matter what stage of the season it is. In particular now because they’re on the back of a couple of good results. They’ve got very good players, we mustn’t forget that, but it’s been a tough season for them. Since January, they’ve been really competitive.
"They’ve shown they can score goals, so we have to be very mindful of that. In order to get the result, we’re going to have to defend well and we know we can score goals. That will be the idea coming into this game."
