It had been a long and testing campaign for the Foxes, and only now can you look back on the incredible journey that took Leicester from relegation, all the way to bouncing back as champions less than 12 months later.
Automatic promotion was confirmed with Leeds United's defeat to Queens Park Rangers, before top spot was achieved with a win at Deepdale against Preston North End. All that awaited City now was the trophy lift, but the final day would be far from routine with Blackburn fighting for survival. The scores remained goalless heading deep into the second half but with just over 20 minutes to play, the league's top goalscorer Sammie Szmodics made sure of his golden boot, scoring twice to take his final tally up to 27, confirming his sides' inclusion in next year's Championship by winning 2-0.
One hundred points would have been a nice achievement, but the real accomplishment was not only getting promoted, but coming out on top in one of the toughest Championship seasons to date. The Club set out with the aim of going straight back up, and through perseverance, undeniable quality and some last minute winners, they followed through on their ambitions.
A record-breaking eighth second tier title belonged to Leicester - champions again.
