- LCFC Women take on London City Lionesses at Farley Way Stadium on Sunday afternoon (2pm kick-off)- The FA Women's Championship title will be clinched if the Foxes take three points from the fixture- Manager Jonathan Morgan provided his pre-match thoughts in Thursday's press conference with the media- He believes the players have approached the game in the correct way and continue to remain grounded
London City Lionesses, the only team to defeat the Foxes in the league this season, are the visitors to Farley Way Stadium, with the potential for Leicester to claim the second tier title for the first time in the Club's history, should they pick up all three points.
With a five-point cushion to second placed Durham and a game in hand on their closest challengers, Leicester enter the game in a strong position, but Morgan is keen to stress the importance of remaining focused against a tough opponent.
"I'm excited and a little bit nervous because we want to get over the line, naturally," Morgan told the media in his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon. "It's the most important game of my career and hopefully that importance has made us prepare well and to keep ourselves switched on.
"It's nice to know that we have three games and we just need to win one of those three games, or two draws, and it's all in our hands.
"I wouldn't say it takes the pressure off the players because we want to get it done this weekend if it's possible, but from a manager's point of view, it makes you feel a little bit more at ease and a little bit more relaxed because we would like to think that we can get two points from nine.
"That's actually what the training sessions have been like because the girls haven't been overzealous or over the top, they've been able to just focus on what they need to focus on to get themselves ready for Sunday.
"The mentality has been right in training so we can just go out there and do the job, not just for ourselves, but the fans and the people of Leicester."
Referencing the reverse fixture at Princes Park in November, Morgan believes a tactical tweak identified on that day has enabled City to go on their current run and rise to the Championship's summit.
"When we lost that game 4-1, we were bitterly disappointed because we were just terrible," the LCFC Women's manager admitted. "It was a horrible day for us and as a manager sitting on the sidelines, you just know there are some days where you can't do anything.
"You can't give out any information to the players because you know the game is just beyond you. We sat down and had some very open and honest discussions with the girls about if they really want to succeed this season, we've got to be more accountable and more switched on and focused.
"The biggest area we highlighted was out of possession, we were just leaving gaps because we were such a gung-ho attacking team and all our players love to attack and we have fantastic attacking talent, as everyone knows.
"But they were living a bit too much on their attacking ability and London City came and exploited that really. It was a blessing in disguise for us because it gave us a kick up the backside, a reality check and since then we've been solid out of possession.
"That's been a massive reason why we've climbed up the table and got 11 wins on the bounce since then."
Morgan believes the Foxes have approached the game in the correct way and stressed that everyone is keeping their feet on the ground ahead of a potentially pivotal day, as they have done all season.
He added: "We're just firmly focused on Sunday. London City are the only team to beat us this season and they beat us comprehensively. They have a style of play that, in my opinion, doesn't suit us at all with the way they are out of possession.
"We've worked very hard on that to fix those problems for this game. From game day one to this week, we've always said the same message to the girls, that's not changed and we're all aware that we've been very fortunate this year to be able to go full-time and fully professional.
"We've said to stay humble, keep grounded and keep focused and don't get carried away with the situation. That's just been a constant theme for us."
