- LCFC Women beat Liverpool in midweek at Pirelli Stadium- Aimee Palmer and Hannah Cain scored the goals in the Continental Tyres League Cup competition- The Foxes take on Manchester United at Leigh Sports Village this Sunday- City's Barclays Women's Super League fixture has a 12pm BST kick-off
The winning form continues for Leicester, who dispatched Liverpool 2-1 in their opening game of the Continental Tyres League Cup, thanks to goals in either half from Aimee Palmer and Hannah Cain at Pirelli Stadium. Prior to the cup victory, the Foxes picked up six points in the WSL with wins over Bristol City and Everton respectively, and the Manager's aim is to keep that momentum going into this weekend when they take on Manchester United. Leicester will take a fully fit squad to Leigh Sports Village with no new injury concerns, aside from Australian striker Remy Siemsen, who is currently on the road to recovery, and this brings great confidence to Kirk who hopes to take points from the Red Devils on Sunday. "There's no fresh injury concerns," the Manager stated. "Everyone that has been available is still available to us which puts us in a strong position. Remy [Siemsen] is still about a month away from any action but she's recovering well and we're looking forward to having her back.
"I mentioned that we might have had one knock before the Everton game, but the player's injury wasn't got too bad, and she got some game time last weekend, so that's no longer an issue. We'll have a full squad ahead of the Man Utd game."
