- LCFC Women take on Chelsea this Sunday afternoon- The Barclays Women's Super League kick-off has a 2pm GMT kick-off- There are no new injury concerns, says Manager Willie Kirk- Deanne Rose and Shannon O'Brien remain out of contention
A busy week of fixtures comes to an close when the Foxes take on the current WSL champions at Kingsmeadow, and will lead into the fixture off the back of a 1-1 stalemate with Tottenham Hotspur, and more recently, a 2-2 draw with Manchester City in the Continental Tyres League Cup, where Leicester picked up an extra point on penalties. On Friday afternoon, the Manager revealed that the squad have come through a busy period without any further injuries. Shannon O'Brien, meanwhile, is still dealing with a quadriceps injury, while Deanne Rose remains on the sideline due to a hamstring complaint. "We've got nothing new in terms of injuries which is good," Kirk told the media. "It's a three game week which is quite infrequent for us, and sometimes can lead to having players suffering, meaning we have to change the team about, but that's not the case. "Of course, we'll have to look at the squad and put out the best side that can get something from Chelsea, but it's good to be able to have that option, rather than be led by injuries."
With eight points so far this term, City will be looking to get a positive result from the capital, having scored in all but one of their games so far during the 2023/24 campaign, which has been their best start ever in the top flight.
