- LCFC Women face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Barclays Women's Super League- The Barclays Women's Super League fixture has a 2pm GMT kick-off on Sunday- Hannah Cain will be sidelined with an ACL injury
As the international break comes to a close, Kirk looks ahead to City's next test, a Barclays Women's Super League fixture on the road to Brighton, and barring the recent news to forward Cain, believes the squad is in a good shape. It was announced last weekend that the Welsh forward had suffered an ACL injury during a Welsh training session, while representing them on international break. The former Everton manager stated how Cain is remaining positive and that the rest of the team is looking fit and healthy ahead of the weekend.
"We don't have any other injuries other than Hannah [Cain] so the squad is looking good," Kirk told the media. "The Australian's were the last to come back, late last night, which isn't ideal but we deal with what we've got and it's always nice for them to play for their countries.
"Jutta [Rantala], Sophie [Howard], everyone is back again and we might have a few tired legs, but we're in quite a good space heading into the weekend, which is important to start strongly with a strong squad."
