The Blues, seven time winners and current holders, visit Filbert Way on Wednesday night (7.05pm kick-off) after a at the weekend which sealed the U18 Premier League South title.
Peake, , has acknowledged the quality at Chelsea’s disposal but says his side must focus on themselves, learn the lessons from Saturday and exploit their visitors’ weaknesses.
Asked if the task at hand is as tough as it is exciting, Peake replied: “Definitely. We were very pleased to get through the last round which was a very close affair. All the lads are looking forward to the challenge ahead of us.
“It is going to be a big challenge, Chelsea and Manchester City have monopolised this competition over the past ten years so we know it’s going to be tough but we’re all ready to go.
“They’ve got lot of quality in different areas all through the team. We’ve been down to watch them in the last round and seen footage of them so it will be a big test.”
The young Foxes have defeated Leyton Orient, Carlisle United and Middlesbrough to reach the quarter-finals but face their sternest test yet against Jody Morris’s men this time around in front of the Blue Army on home soil.
Peake hopes City can learn the lessons from their defeat at the weekend quickly and went on to provide some insight into the kind of preparation his backroom team undergoes ahead of a clash of this significance.
He added: “There were quite a few lessons to be learned which, hopefully, we can do and be a bit more effective in this second game. As Chelsea were, we were understrength and there are different players who are going to be playing for us and I’m sure there will be for them.
“We’ve looked at certain traits Chelsea use for their success and we’re going all out to nullify those and look at a couple of weaknesses, they haven’t got too many, which we can prioritise.”
For some, it will be a first taste of match action on the King Power Stadium turf, where three league titles have been lifted by the first team in recent years, and Peake has challenged his young players to rise to the occasion.
“It's great for some of the younger ones,” he continued. “Usually it’s only the parents or a couple of scouts that come and watch our games so playing at the stadium under the lights is always special.
“We’ve managed to do that a couple of times already this season and it’s a bigger affair, a path into the semi-finals. I’m determined that the lads are going to be in the right frame of mind to approach that.
“We’ve had quite a few move up to the Under-23s this season and one or two have trained with the first-team which is an achievement in itself. The progression of the players is very important for the Academy. Long may that continue and this can be a really good learning curve for them, whatever the result.”
