- Leicester City have a fixture with Brighton & Hove Albion next up on Saturday- The 3pm kick-off sees the Seagulls visit King Power Stadium in the Premier League- Dennis Praet gives his assessment of the Foxes’ recent form to LCFC TV- There is a clear motivation and determination to turn things around, he says
Defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground last weekend, a fourth successive league loss since the restart, leaves City 15th in the top-flight standings prior to welcoming the Seagulls to King Power Stadium on Saturday (3pm kick-off). “It was a tough loss, of course,” the Belgium international told LCFC TV. “Those games, we especially want to win them, so the next couple of days were tough, but we turned a page, and we go onto the next game now. “It’s very frustrating, it’s tough. If you get a few losses in a row, then it gets tough. Now it’s about finding the confidence again and trying to pick up the first points and then we can be on a good run again.”
The significance of maintaining a positive result is not lost on Praet and the rest of the squad, with preparations in full flow at LCFC Training Ground during a full week of on-pitch work.
“We try to get out of it as a team,” City’s No.26 continued. “We are training hard. Today (Wednesday) we had a hard training session where there were some good duels, but that’s what is needed for us to get something out of it.
“We need to try to get everyone as sharp as possible to get some points in the next games. I think at this moment, every game is very important.”
Turning a tricky patch of form around is no easy task, the midfielder admitted, as he previewed the fixture against the high-flying south coast outfit, who have impressed under new manager Roberto De Zerbi. The Seagulls also defeated City in the reverse fixture at AMEX Stadium.
The 26-year-old added: “We know, of course, that Brighton is a very good team. They just won 3-0 against Liverpool, so then you know you are playing a very good opponent. We’ve seen that also in the game against us in Brighton.
“We know we have to be at our best to get something there, so I hope we can get something. We have a lot of motivation, not only because of that game, but because of the period we are in.
“Everybody is trying to be at their best to get points against Brighton.”
