The Foxes have endured a tough start to 2017 and the 2-0 defeat by Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday night ruled out their chances of reaching the next round of the Premier League Cup.
Steve Beaglehole’s men, however, have performed well at their new home in Whetstone since the 3-3 draw with Manchester City on their debut there and will be hopeful of securing another scalp against the Gunners.
Many of the Development Squad represented the Club during the slender 1-0 reverse against Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday night with the Under-18s exiting the competition at the Quarter-Final stage.
Under-23s boss Beaglehole has challenged his young players to keep a clean sheet for the visit of Steve Gatting’s men this weekend and has regularly spoken about the need for City to score first to get back to winning ways.
Opposition camp
Arsenal suffered their first defeat since early December last time around with substitute Nathan Broadhead scoring four minutes from time for Everton to emerge from the Merseyrail Community Stadium with all three points.
The last time the Gunners faced City was a successful night for the hosts at the home of Boreham Wood FC as a hat-trick by Eddie Nketiah proved to be the difference on a cold night in north London back in November.
Before the setback at Everton, Steve Gatting’s side enjoyed successive Premier League 2 victories over Southampton and Derby County which leaves them in fifth-place in the league standings, seven places above City.

“The biggest thing we need to do is keep a clean sheet,” Steve Beaglehole told LCFC TV this week, previewing the clash. “If we can keep a clean sheet I would think we would come away from this match with three points.
“That would be fantastic. What personnel we’ll have for the match, I don’t know, but we’ll have to look at doing something a little different defensively because we are leaking goals.
“It may be that we change the personnel around or possibly that we change shape. Against Arsenal you need to be tight and solid at the back because they’ll have some good players.
“They have some imaginative and talented players so the most important thing for us is to keep a clean sheet.”
One to watch
City know all about the talents of Eddie Nketiah after his stunning hat-trick downed Steve Beaglehole’s men in the corresponding fixture in the capital just before Christmas.
The 17-year-old is considered one of the brightest talents in the entire Under-23s pyramid and has continued to impress during his breakthrough season for Arsenal with a clutch of crucial goals.
With five strikes to his name from just nine league appearances – and another three in the UEFA Youth Cup – Nketiah is currently combining duties for the Under-23s and Under-18s sides for the Gunners.
