Leicester are now the only team left with a 100 per cent record in England's top two divisions after beating Liverpool in Continental Tyres League Cup action on Wednesday night. Willie Kirk's side will be looking to carry that momentum forward to this weekend when they travel to Manchester to face the Red Devils for Sunday's early kick-off.
Ahead of this weekend's match, here is a detailed look into both sides...
The Foxes camp
It's been a dream start to the 2023/24 campaign for the Foxes, who have won all three of their opening games. Most recently, a goal in either half from Aimee Palmer and Hannah Cain ensured three points for City in the first game of Group B in the League Cup, beating Liverpool 2-1 at Pirelli Stadium midweek.
Leicester have also started brightly in the WSL, beating Bristol City 4-2 on the opening day, before coming out victorious against Everton last weekend at King Power Stadium. Lena Petermann netted the only goal of that game, but fellow German Janina Leitzig was also crucial to the final scoreline, saving a penalty on the brink of half-time.
In the best form that the Foxes have ever witnessed in the top flight, they head to Leigh Sports Village where they face Manchester United, who recently drew 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night in the UEFA Women's Champions League, before they fly to Paris for the return leg just three days after facing Leicester.
The opposition
Manchester United have had a solid start to their WSL campaign, winning one and drawing one to gather a total of four points. They started the season with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa on the opening day at Villa Park, but took until the final 10 minutes before engaging a comeback; Lucia Garcia and Rachel Williams with the late goals.
The following week saw them draw 2-2 with Arsenal in their first home fixture. Stina Blackstenius took the lead for the visitors but Leah Galton quickly equalised before half-time. The Manchester side thought they had stolen the win in the 81st minute when Melvine Malard scored on her debut, but an injury-time leveller from Cloe Lacasse meant the points were shared.
In the dugout
The head coach for Man Utd is Marc Skinner, who has held the position since July 2021, and is therefore seeing out his third season at the helm. His managerial CV also includes stints with Orlando Pride and Birmingham City, where was given charge in 2016.
He has been runners-up of the prestigious Vitality Women's FA Cup on two occasions, first of all with Birmingham in the 2016/17 season, before being beaten in the final 1-0 by Chelsea in May of this year; Sam Kerr scoring the only goal in the second half, so the Englishman will be looking to add some silverware to the United cabinet.
Last time out
The Foxes don't hold a very good record against the Manchester club, losing on both occasions in the league last term. First of all at home in October of last year when a 33rd minute strike from Nikita Parris was enough to see off the Foxes on Filbert Way, before beating Kirk's side 5-1 at Leigh Sports Village in March.
That game saw Australian striker Remy Siemsen make her debut for the Club, and score her first goal with a fantastic strike past Lionesses 'keeper Mary Earps. The good news for the Foxes is that this time, they will be without striker Alessia Russo, who scored a hat-trick in that fixture, having moved to Arsenal this summer.
