Firstly, I’d like to wish a happy Christmas to all our supporters ahead of our Boxing Day fixture at King Power Stadium against Manchester United.
I hope that you all were able to celebrate safely with your families and that you’ll able to enjoy the game from home. We know this is always a special fixture in the calendar for our supporters and there really is no substitute for having you here, but we’ll do everything we can to make it an enjoyable afternoon for you all.
We also know that the current restrictions have been difficult for our supporters in so many ways, so we have a responsibility to play our part by making sure you can take enjoyment and pride from watching your team.
We’ve been working hard to make sure we’re in a position to do that. Wednesday was our final day training at Belvoir Drive, while we trained at our new home for the first time on Christmas Eve and again this Christmas Day morning. The commitment the players have shown is fantastic and I know the thought of giving our fans who are at home this Christmas is at the front of their minds.
Every time our fans are inside King Power Stadium we can hear the passion and love they have for their team, so that tells us just how difficult it must be for them to have been away for so long, especially at this time of year when families usually come together to enjoy the fixtures over Christmas and New Year.
I’m also delighted to say that this week has been a hugely significant one for this Football Club as we moved into our new Seagrave Training Ground on Christmas Eve. It is truly a world-class facility and a testament to the commitment and vision of our Chairman and owners.
It is a huge step forward for Leicester City and one that will benefit the Club for years to come. No stone has been left unturned when it comes to excellence at the new facility and it is something that every supporter can be incredibly proud of.
The journey that Leicester City have been on in the 10 years of King Power’s ownership is astonishing and I’m incredibly excited to be here to help continue that journey together with our owners, our players and our supporters.
This Football Club is like a family and we’re so lucky to have such a special connection with our supporters. There is nothing that compares to having you with us and the day we’re able to do that will be a moment to remember for everyone.
Until then, we’re working as hard as ever to be able to give you something to cheer about from home and ensure we keep progressing on our journey.
We thank you for the incredible patience you’ve shown by supporting us from home for all this time. So, from everyone at Leicester City, we wish you a happy and healthy Christmas and hope that 2021 brings us a time when it’s safe to be together again.
