- Brendan Rodgers reflects on Leicester City's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday- The Foxes came back to draw through Harvey Barnes' 83rd-minute equaliser at Selhurst Park- Rodgers was pleased with the nature of the performance after making seven changes in south London- The Foxes manager also provided an update on the fitness of Çağlar Söyüncü and Cengiz Ünder
Wilfried Zaha's second-half opener came following a flurry of City chances, which included Kelechi Iheanacho's 18th-minute saved penalty, but Leicester remained resolute throughout.
The visitors' pressure eventually paid dividends with seven minutes to play in south London as Harvey Barnes struck his eighth goal of the season to rescue a point for the Foxes.
After making seven changes to the starting XI which starred in outings against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, reaping four points, Rodgers was generally enthused with the performance.
"That was pleasing, that aspect, but it didn’t surprise me," the Northern Irishman told LCFC TV. "We work well and the players have played in the structure of how we want now for 18 months or so.
"We got a big chance with the penalty. It’s a shame for Kels (Iheanacho) because yesterday he took five penalties in training and scored five out of five, all good penalties again.
"I did fancy him when he stepped up, but it wasn’t to be. Again, for the second game in three days, we’ve come from behind and this mentality that’s developing in the team will help us going forward."
The Foxes manager also provided an update on the fitness of Çağlar Söyüncü, who was unused on the bench, and Cengiz Ünder, both of whom have been absent recently through injury.
"If the game was different, we were hoping to play [Söyüncü] for 25 minutes to half-an-hour," he explained. "But we were chasing the game, so he just had to wait.
"[Ünder] was back out on the pitch [in training] in his rehab so hopefully in the midweek he’ll be out training with us."
